Overview of Wild Rift Patch 4.2

Version 4.2 unleashed its fury last May 26 to the delight of Wild Rift players! Here are some important changes you might wanna check.

New Champion

On May 26, the Playhem patch will be released, enabling players to experience the new content following that date. Here are the specifics of the new champion and new elemental fos introduced in the patch:

  • Swain

Swain Wild RiftThe esteemed Noxian Grand General, will join the Playhem patch as a mage and strategic genius, wielding a demonic hand. With his ability, “Nevermove,” he can immobilize his foes, rendering them helpless. Furthermore, his second skill, “Vision of Empire,” deals increased damage to enemies who are under the effects of crowd control.

Moreover, Swain possesses the capability to unleash his demonic form through “Demonic Ascension.” In this state, he can drain the life essence of minions, neutral monsters, and even enemy champions, further augmenting his power on the battlefield.

Champion Changes

  • Olaf

Olaf Wild RiftOlaf’s previous state left him struggling to keep up with other champions, and his playstyle didn’t accurately capture the essence of a relentless berserker engaged in a fierce battle to the death. With this mini rework, our objective is to enhance Olaf’s ability to endure fights for longer durations and progressively grow stronger throughout.

New Element

Ice Dragon

As part of the Playhem patch, players will encounter a formidable new elemental adversary known as the Ice Dragon. Defeating this dragon rewards champions with ability haste, a highly sought-after attribute for champions skilled in the art of spell casting. Notably, if the Ice Dragon is defeated before any other objective, the entire rift undergoes a freezing effect, enveloping the jungle and river in icy terrain, granting enhanced movement speed to champions navigating those areas.

Additionally, a Frozen Fruit will materialize in the wilderness, and engaging with it will trigger a freezing blast that immobilizes nearby enemies. Similar to the effects of Zhonya’s Hourglass, this blast renders enemies untargetable and invulnerable for a brief period, providing a strategic advantage to the champions who seize this opportunity.
