League of Legends Wild Rift has recently released its newest Champions: Kha’Zix and Rengar. Let’s get to know more about these fierce hunters, their best build, and other gameplay tips.
Kha’Zix and Rengar are featured in the latest Wild Rift event called Masters of the Hunt. Players choose a side between the two Champions to determine who is the predator and who is the prey. Players can earn rewards like icons and baubles, and of course, their chosen champion upon completing the different missions.
Kha’Zix the Voidreaver
Role: Assasin/Fighter
Difficulty: Moderate
As a Voidreaver, Kha’Zix carefully plans its hunt. Kha’Zix overcomes its victims by generating sheer visceral terror to take them down. Its evolutionary nature and cold, merciless intelligence help Kha’Zix to survive and slay the strongest of them all.
Abilities
Passive – Unseen Threat
Enemies nearby Kha’Zix that are isolated will be marked. When the enemy team loses sight of Kha’Zix its next attack against enemy champions deals bonus magic damage and slows them for a few seconds.
Ability 1 – Taste Their Fear
Kha’Zix deals physical damage to the target using its claws, dealing additional damage on isolated targets. If evolved, a significant portion of Taste Their Fear’s cooldown is refunded against isolated targets. Basic attacks and Taste Their Fear also gain increased range.
Ability 2 – Void Spike
Kha’Zix fires spikes to deal physical damage to enemies hit. Kha’Zix also partially heals if it is caught within the explosion radius. If evolved, Void Spike will fire additional spikes revealing and slowing enemies for a short duration.
Ability 3 – Leap
Kha’Zix leaps to a targeted area and deals physical damage upon landing. If evolved, Leap gains significant range and the cooldown is refunded on champion takedowns.
Ultimate – Void Assault
Passive: Each upgrade to Void Assault allows for Kha’Zix to evolve one of its abilities.
Active: Kha’Zix becomes invisible and triggers Unseen Threat with extra movement speed. If evolved, invisibility duration lasts longer and can be cast numerous times.
Kha’Zix Runes Setup
You can equip the following Runes Setup to make Kha’Zix a more formidable hunter-killer in battle.
Keystone:
- Electrocute – Use this as the main rune for your assassin Kha’Zix as it greatly enhances burst damage. It also triggers successful skill combos and deals bonus damage to affected enemies.
Domination:
- Brutal – This is considered as the most effective domination rune for Kha’Zix.
- Gathering Storm – For more scaling and late game prowess particularly against tough fights.
- Hunter Vampirism – For a Fighter Kha’Zix, this will aid in sustaining damage in teamfights.
- Weakness – Boosts your team’s damage to opponents slowed or with crowd control effects.
Resolve:
- Hunter – Titan – Grants 20 max health. The most workable rune for this champion.
- Spirit Walker – Grants additional health and slow resistance. Good stuff!
Inspiration:
- Hunter – Genius – Grants 2.5 ability haste
- Pathfinder – Gives Kha’Zix extra movement speed when walking through the river, jungle, or even in the bushes when out of combat.
Best Summoner Spells for Kha’Zix
You can use the following Summoner Spells to aid Kha’Zix in various ways and activate in certain situations to gain an advantage.
- Flash – Definitely the best spell to use for Kha’Zix. It’s a great escape tool and offers more offensive options in battle.
- Smite – This is a must-have when jungling.
Kha’Zix Gameplay Tips
Let’s go straight to the point, Kha’Zix is not a simple champion to use. You will need to practice to get its bearings right, together with good itemization and skills in general. These few tips will help you maximize this Voidreaver in battle.
- When jungling, use more of Kha’Zix isolation passive on isolated targets.
- Slash attack unsuspecting enemies with your Ability 1 if you find them lurking in the jungle or trying to push lanes.
- Utilize your Ultimate more for engaging rather than your Ability 3 (unless it’s a sure kill).
- Use in combination your Ability 2 with Ability 1 to get more range of attack.
- Void Assault is more useful, particularly when going up against Vi or Darius as it can cancel their targeted abilities.
Rengar the Pridestalker
Role: Assasin
Difficulty: Moderate
Surviving alone in the wilderness, Rengar the Pridestalker learned quickly about hunting. Then came the day when he was tasked to hunt down Kha’Zix who took out his eye in their first encounter. Realizing that he survived against the monster only made Rengar more confident of getting its head back as a trophy.
Abilities
Passive – Unseen Predator
If Rengar is in the bush or camouflaged, he will leap towards his target with his next attack. Also, activating a basic ability allows Rengar to gain Ferocity which, at a certain point, can be used to enhance his next basic ability cast.
Ability 1 – Savagery
Rengar’s next 2 attacks gain attack speed. The first attack deals extra physical damage. Ferocity: Rengar gains, even more, attack speed and the first attack deals additional physical damage.
Ability 2 – Battle Roar
Rengar roars, dealing magic damage, and heals himself for some of the damage taken. Ferocity: Rengar deals magic damage and instead of partially healing himself gains movement speed and removes all crowd control effects from himself.
Ability 3 – Bola Strike
Rengar throws a bola causing physical damage and slows his enemy for a couple of seconds. Ferocity: Rengar gains even more movement speed and roots his enemy instead of slowing them.
Ultimate – Thrill of the Hunt
Rengar gains movement speed and reveals the nearest enemy champion for a short duration. Rengar becomes camouflaged right after and his next attack shreds the target’s armor for a period of time.
Rengar Runes Setup
You can equip the following Runes Setup to make Rengar a more ferocious and effective hunter in combat.
Keystone:
- Electrocute – Use this as the main rune if you want Rengar to easily destroy squishy enemies. Launches on successful skill combos, it deals bonus damage to affected enemies and enhances his burst damage.
Domination:
- Weakness – Increases your team’s damage on slowed opponents or those with crowd control effects.
- Brutal – This delivers extra AD plus armor penetration to aid you during early game.
Resolve:
- Hunter – Titan – Grants 20 max health and tenacity, this is a workable rune for this champion.
- Spirit Walker – Grants additional health and slow resistance.
Inspiration:
- Hunter – Genius – Offers increased Ability Haste to help use your abilities more frequently to bring down additional enemies.
- Pathfinder – Grants Rengar extra movement speed when walking through the river, jungle, or even in the bushes when out of combat.
Best Summoner Spells for Rengar
You can use the following Summoner Spells to help Rengar in multiple ways and activate in certain situations to get the upper hand/
- Flash – This is the most suitable spell for Rengar since you might want to use him to efficiently slay an enemy and flee right after should the need arises.
- Smite – Junglers need this one.
Rengar Gameplay Tips
Let’s go straight to the point, Kha’Zix is not a simple champion to use. You will need to practice to get its bearings right, together with good itemization and skills in general. These few tips will help you maximize this Voidreaver in battle.
- Make sure you farm sufficiently in the early game (with the help of an ally) to help Rengar level up faster. Be very careful when engaging in early ganks.
- Be observant and patient. When there’s a chance to go for an easy kill resulting from over-committing enemies, go for it. Rengar has the tools of the trade built for the kill.
- While waiting on the bush when going for an ambush, use your Strike Ball to start your surprise, big assault.
- Be familiar with different attack routes and use them to plan your attacks on different enemies. Once you master Rengar’s rotations, you will have no trouble in attacking.
