HoYoverse continues to expand the fantasy world of Teyvat with the Genshin Impact 4.8 update, Summertide Scales and Tales. New limited-time area: Simulanka
Similar to previous event-exclusive areas like the Golden Apple Archipelago, Simulanka promises a fresh and immersive environment that is sure to scratch your itch for adventure. The area is characterized by its diverse lands populated by origami animals and intricate puzzles. Players begin their journey in the Forest of Blessings after completing the Song of the Dragon and Freedom quest, unlocking the narrative and adventures that lie ahead.
Through its captivating setting, engaging gameplay, and generous reward system, Simulanka adds a rich layer to the Genshin Impact universe, inviting players to dive deep into its mysteries before entering a new chapter in the long-awaited release of Natlan in the next Genshin update.
New banners, new character Emilie
Emilie, a 5-star Dendro character, emerges as the standout addition in the new Genshin Impact update. Known as a renowned perfumer from Fontaine, she brings her unique fragrance expertise into battle. Wielding a polearm and the newly introduced Lumidouce Elegy, Emilie is designed to function as a Dendro sub-DPS. Her skills are particularly effective in enhancing the Burning Elemental Reaction, making her a valuable asset when paired with powerful Pyro units.
Emilie will make her debut in Phase 2 of Version 4.8, set to run from August 6, 2024, to August 26, 2024. During this period, players will also have the opportunity to obtain the Hydro 5-star Yelan in her own rerun banner, offering players a chance to enhance their team synergies with these powerful characters.
Well-loved characters Nilou and Navia will kick off Version 4.8 on their own rerun banners from July 17, 2024, to August 6, 2024. Their signature weapons, Key of Khaj-Nisut and Verdict will also be available in the Epitome Invocation.
New outfits
Nilou’s Breeze of Sabaa
Nilou’s new outfit, Breeze of Sabaa, brings an air of elegance to the character. This outfit, seemingly woven from countless flowers, carries a light fragrance reminiscent of the east wind at dawn. It’s available for a limited time at a discounted price of 1,350 Genesis Crystals until August 26, 2024. After this period, the price will revert to 1,680 Genesis Crystals. The attire includes a white dress adorned with purple floral designs and blue accents, complemented by a new hair accessory featuring a floral design and a copper leaf crown.
Kirara’s Phantom in Boots
Kirara‘s transformation in the Phantom in Boots outfit aligns perfectly with the summer vibes of the limited-time Summertide Scales and Tales event. This outfit, which is available for free during the event, features a phantom burglar theme complete with a short corset dress, a wide-brim fedora hat, and over-the-knee lace-up boots.
To acquire Kirara’s Phantom in Boots outfit, players must participate in the Summertide Scales and Tales event and collect Excerpts of Bliss from around Simulanka. After the event, the outfit will be available for purchase in the Character Outfit Shop. For Nilou’s outfit, players can directly purchase Breeze of Sabaa from the Character Outfit Shop during the limited-time discount period.
New events
After having its debut back in Version 4.7, Imaginarium Theatre gets a new permanent game mode: Envisaged Echoes. This new game mode introduces 5 high difficulty challenges to spice up your Imaginarium Theatre run, and rewards you with Echoes, which are new character-specific cosmetics for Kirara, Jean, Diluc, Ningguang, and Qiqi. Travellers can also visit Romaritime Harbor to meet the Sumerian scholar, Basima, to take her newly-developed Bing-Bang Finchball game for a spin.
New quality-of-life improvements
Encounter Points, which are a resource used to collect Commission Rewards, can now be stored as Long-Term Encounter Points and be used for later. This is a welcome change for busy Travellers as it will allow them to grind for Encounter Points whenever they’re free, and still be able to acquire a week’s worth of daily quests just by logging in. Long-Term Encounter Points can be converted into usable Encounter Points with Original Resin.
