Top teams must rethink their strategies as VALORANT Episode 9: Act 2 drops Agent 26 into the battlefield. The master tactician, Vyse, is here to shake the meta with her mind-bending abilities and an oppressive playstyle that forces any enemy to tread lightly. Read on and learn all about her abilities and playstyle!
Who is Vyse?
Vyse, the 26th Agent to join the VALORANT Protocol, is a metallic mastermind who brings a new level of cunning to the award-winning, tactical FPS. This Sentinel’s unique ability to manipulate liquid metal enables her to control and trap enemies at will, bringing a fresh new twist to VALORANT.
What truly sets Vyse apart is her Ultimate, which disarms enemies, allowing her team to gain the upper hand on full-buy rounds or level the playing field during eco rounds. This type of ability is the first of its kind, so let’s look at her abilities to understand her role better!
Vyse’s Abilities
Razorvine (C)
Vyse equips a nest of liquid metal that becomes invisible when placed on the ground. When activated, the nest sprawls out into a large razorvine nest, slowing down and damaging enemies who move through it.
Shear (Q)
Vyse equips filaments of liquid metal that form a hidden wall trap when used. When an enemy crosses the trap, an indestructible wall bursts from the ground behind them, isolating them from their team.
Arc Rose (E)
Vyse equips an Arc Rose that she can place on surfaces. When activated, the Arc Rose blinds all players facing its direction.
Steel Garden (Ultimate)
Vyse equips a bramble of liquid metal. Vyse unleashes a torrent of metal thorns, jamming enemies’ primary weapons when used.
Core strategies
Basic knowledge of the map’s choke points and commonly contested areas will be your key to success when playing as Vyse. Shear can be placed on narrow entry points to help pick out the enemy team’s vanguard, and putting a Razorvine next to it can help disrupt the next wave. When faced with quick and skilled enemies, remember that you can always back down and play retake with Arc Rose and Steel Garden. Saving your Ultimate for eco-rounds is almost always the play, though, as it can negate any advantage the enemy team has for a short period. Playing duos with KAY/O can also be a fantastic option, as both their Ultimates will leave your opponents with nothing but pistols and knives to fight with.
Vyse’s arrival has players buzzing with excitement and a dash of concern. Her ability to disarm enemies will shake things up and introduce slightly more sophisticated strategies for Attackers and Defenders. The indestructible wall from her Shear ability will force duelists to stick with less risky entries and give Defenders more time to adjust and regroup.
Vyse just entered the servers last August 28, 2024; needless to say, we’re yet to see her true potential. Let us know about the fantastic strategies you discover playing with her! And remember to purchase your VALORANT Points at Codashop for a quick and secure top-up experience.
