New Features and Improvements

Gameplay Changes

  • Changes have been made to the Combat Report, now displaying “Allies Dazed” alongside “Enemies Dazed” for all Concuss abilities. Observer Mode has received performance optimizations, specifically when rapidly switching between Agents utilizing their abilities.

Map Changes

  • PEARL- Riot has made several adjustments to address concerns about the difficulty of defending Pearl’s B Site and the advantages of attackers in post-plant scenarios. The B Ramp Screen has been shortened and replaced with a jump-up platform, making it a more predictable and committed position. The attacker Ramp cubby has been removed, reducing the number of positions for long plant holds and increasing vulnerability to flanks. The B Site Screen has been extended, providing defenders with more options, including a non-pannable section and a stack of crates for additional mix-up opportunities. A new cubby has been added in B Hall, offering defenders a repositioning space and new angles to contest B Link and the Long plant spot. The B Site Pillar has also been widened to provide more room and reduce spamming occurrences.

Weapons

  • Ascender ropes will have an increased minimum spread of 65% of the walking spread.
  • Rifles will see an increase in spread from 0.8 to 1.3.
  • Spread adjustments have been made to various pistols: Classic (0.35 to 0.55), Frenzy (0.35 to 0.52), Ghost (0.35 to 0.6), and Sheriff (0.35 to 0.78).
  • SMGs will have an increased spread from 0.3 to 0.65.
  • Walking and running spread on ropes will match the spread on the ground.
  • Shorty changes include reduced reserve ammo (10 to 6), increased price (150 to 300), and damage adjustments for more accuracy against fully armored opponents.
  • Frenzy changes include increased minimum spread (0.45 to 0.65), adjusted spread and recoil curves, and reaching maximum spread/recoil in 5 bullets instead of 6.
  • Phantom: Reserve ammo reduced from 90 to 60.
  • Vandal: Reserve ammo reduced from 75 to 50.

Recoil Adjustments

The vertical recoil multipliers while running have been adjusted as follows:

  • Phantom: Increased from 1.5 to 1.8
  • Spectre: Increased from 1.5 to 1.8
  • Vandal: Increased from 1.5 to 1.8
  • Frenzy: Increased from 1.25 to 1.5

Competitive Meta and Strategies

This update will influence team compositions and strategies. The adjustments to various agents, such as Viper and Chamber, can change the roles of these agents in team compositions. The modifications to Pearl’s B Site impact how teams approach and defend specific areas. These changes can lead to developing new strategies, as defenders are given additional positions to hold and new angles to contest.

The wider pillar on B Site also offers more room for defenders to maneuver, altering defensive tactics and potentially impacting attackers’ spamming strategies. The adjustment in spread makes it more challenging for players to consistently hit shots with pinpoint accuracy, especially when spraying or controlling recoil, and, most importantly, the nerfs to the Vandal and Phantom could potentially lead to a change of weapons used in competitive matches. Depending on the specific map, team composition, and strategies, players may explore other rifles or opt for different weapon categories, such as SMGs or shotguns.
