Brace yourselves, agents! A spectral storm is brewing in the world of VALORANT, and its name is Clove. This otherworldly controller doesn’t just push the boundaries of life and death – they shatter them completely! Imagine dominating your opponents even after you’ve fallen. Sounds impossible? Not for Clove. Their butterfly-themed abilities flutter between realms, turning the tide of battle in the blink of an eye. Whether you’re a battle-hardened veteran or a fresh recruit, mastering Clove’s butterfly-themed skillset could be your key to dominating matches and climbing the ranks.

Ready to transcend mortality and leave your enemies in awe? Buckle up! We’re about to dive deep into Clove’s game-changing arsenal, unravel the secrets of their aggressive playstyle, and arm you with the tactics to become a true phantom menace.

Who is Clove?

Clove is the 25th agent to join the VALORANT Protocol, hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland. This young, non-binary character brings unique abilities to the battlefield as the game’s sixth Controller. Described as a “Scottish troublemaker,” Clove possesses an unprecedented power over the essences of life and immortality.

What sets Clove apart is their ability to defy death itself. When killed, they enter a junction between the realms of the living and the dead, from which they can resurrect themselves. This immortality, however, comes with its challenges, as Clove finds it increasingly difficult to return to life the longer they spend in this otherworldly space. With their fearless attitude and mischievous nature, Clove adds a new dimension to the VALORANT roster, keeping enemies guessing both in combat and beyond the grave.

Clove’s Abilities

Pick-Me-Up (C)

Clove Pick me up Ability

Pick-Me-Up is a game-changing ability that sets Clove apart from other agents in VALORANT. This skill allows you to absorb the life essence of fallen enemies, granting you a boost in speed and some overheal. To activate Pick-Me-Up, you must either eliminate an opponent or deal damage to an enemy whom a teammate finishes off.

It’s worth noting that Pick-Me-Up’s overheal provides a temporary health boost without increasing Clove’s maximum health or shields, capped at 100 health and 50 shield. This buff is distinct from regular healing and expires after a set duration, reverting Clove to their previous health state. The overheal buff is immediately terminated if you receive conventional healing during the overheal period.

Meddle (Q)

Clove Decay Ability

Meddle is Clove’s decay ability, adding a unique twist to the Scottish agent’s kit. When you equip Meddle, you’ll grab a fragment of immortality essence. Throwing this fragment causes it to detonate after a short delay, releasing a swarm of butterflies that decay the life essence of any enemies caught in the blast.

The decay effect from Meddle is potent, reducing enemy health by 90 HP for about 3.25 seconds. This makes it an excellent tool for weakening opponents before engaging or flushing them out of tight corners.

Remember that Meddle costs 250 credits, making it a bit pricey for a basic ability. However, its potential to turn the tide of a round, especially during eco or force-buy situations, makes it a valuable addition to your arsenal.

Ruse (E)

Clove Smoke Ability

Ruse is Clove’s signature smoke ability, cementing their role as a controller agent. When you activate Ruse, you’ll see a bird’s-eye view of the map, similar to Brimstone’s tablet interface. From this view, you can place up to two smoke clouds on the battlefield.

What sets Ruse apart from other smoke abilities is its unique feature: you can use it even after you’ve died. This post-mortem functionality allows you to continue supporting your team from beyond the grave, making Clove a constant threat throughout the round.

The smoke clouds from Ruse last about 14 seconds, shorter than most other controllers’ smokes. However, they regenerate quickly, with a 30-second cooldown between uses. This allows for more dynamic play, perfect for fake pushes or rapid rotations.

Not Dead Yet (X)

Clove Ultimate First Animation

Not Dead Yet is Clove’s ultimate ability and is a self-revive skill that allows you to defy death and return to the battlefield for a limited time. After you’re eliminated, you’ll have a short window to activate Not Dead Yet, bringing yourself back to life.

Upon resurrection, you’ll enter an invulnerable state similar to Reyna’s Dismiss, allowing you to reposition safely. However, there’s a catch: you have about 12 seconds to secure a kill or assist after respawning. If you fail to do so, you’ll automatically die again. Taking down an opponent means you get to fight again for the rest of the round and turn the tides of battle in your favour.

This ultimate ability adds an exciting layer of strategy to your gameplay. You can use it to turn the tables in clutch situations, catch enemies off guard during post-plant scenarios, or create space for your team in tight spots.

As the new VALORANT agent, Clove brings a fresh and exciting playstyle to the game. Their abilities revolve around the themes of life, death, and immortality, making them a unique addition to the roster. You can make impactful plays even after death by mastering Clove’s kit, keeping your opponents guessing, and tilting the odds in your favour.

Embrace Immortality with Clove

Clove’s arrival in VALORANT brings a thrilling new dimension to the game, blurring the lines between life and death on the battlefield. With their unique ability to resurrect, manipulate life essence, and control the flow of combat even after falling, Clove offers players an unparalleled strategic advantage. By mastering Clove’s kit, you can make impactful plays even after death, keeping your opponents guessing and tilting the odds in your favour.
