New Characters and Banners
Varesa, a 5-star Electro character, storms into the battlefield with unparalleled speed and power. Renowned across Natlan as both a champion wrestler and a competitive eater, her bold personality is perfectly mirrored in her combat style. She excels at chaining high-speed melee attacks infused with Electro energy, making her ideal for triggering elemental reactions. Her rapid attack speed and intense AoE damage make her devastating against groups of enemies.

The long-awaited Iansan also joins the Genshin Impact roster in Version 5.5. Previously teased in concept art before the game’s launch, she now steps into the spotlight as a formidable support unit. Iansan enhances team energy regeneration while applying consistent Electro damage, making her an excellent enabler for reaction-based teams. Her abilities synchronize well with other Electro or Pyro characters, maximizing damage output.

Version 5.5 kicks off with two jam-packed character banners, giving Travelers a chance to recruit powerful units to their teams:

New Weapon – Vivid Notion
Varesa’s signature 5-star catalyst, Vivid Notion, is designed to boost her overall DPS. The weapon’s passive, Falling Rainbow’s Wish, further increases ATK and Crit DMG after performing a plunge attack. Following up with an elemental skill or burst raises this buff by another 40%.
New Area – Ancient Sacred Mountain
Also known as the Great Volcano of Tollan, this awe-inspiring landmark in Natlan plays a significant role in Natlan’s local mythology. Travelers can delve into its fiery depths and uncover the secrets buried beneath molten rock for centuries.
New Artifact Set – Long Night’s Oath
The Long Night’s Oath is designed to improve a character’s plunging attacks. If you’re planning to pull for Varesa, or if you already have Xiao, Gaming, or Xianyun, you’ll want to farm this set in the Derelict Masonry Dock Domain.
2-Piece Bonus: Increases plunging attack damage by 25%.
4-Piece Bonus: Grants the Radiance Everlasting buff, after plunge attack, charged attack, or elemental skill. The buff grants an extra 15% increase on plunging attack damage and can be stacked up to 5 times.
New Events
Tournament of Glory in Bloom is the flagship event of Version 5.5, offering Travelers the chance to participate in inter-tribal competitions that test offensive and defensive strategies. This event features two gameplay modes:
- Bloomflower Trials – Engage in Offensive and Defensive Battles alongside Mualani and Varesa. Offensive Battles focus on breaking enemy defenses, while Defensive Battles require players to protect their strongholds from waves of monsters.
- Saurian Treasure Seeker – Hunt treasures with Saurians and navigate through obstacles while collecting rare loot. Use Saurians’ unique skills to complete the obstacles quickly.
Rewards include Primogems, a Crown of Insight, and a free 4-star, Ororon.
Quirky Quaking Arena
For a more lighthearted challenge, Quirky Quaking Arena is a co-op event packed with fun and chaos. Travelers team up to collect Adventure Coins while interacting with Item Boxes that provide unpredictable buffs. Work together (or mess with each other for fun) to earn Primogems, character EXP materials, and more!
