VALORANT Give Back BundleIf you’re a total FPS (first-person shooter) newbie, VALORANT, with its sizable Agent pool and number of abilities, isn’t the most beginner-friendly game to pick up. While it can be true, there is no reason to be discouraged because its new Basic Training feature gives you everything you need to know to get that sweet win! Prime your guns, Agent, and let’s take a look at VALORANT’s new Basic Training.

Basic Training is a playable tutorial mode first implemented in VALORANT Console and added to the PC version in Patch 9.02. It covers all essential topics to help you grasp the game, from picking up the Classic to planting or defusing the Spike. You can access it by clicking “Play” in the main menu and then clicking “Practice.”

Basic gun use

In VALORANT, there are two win conditions: first, detonate or defuse the Spike, and second, defeat the entire enemy team. Players work towards these conditions with their abilities, mainly their guns. The first part of the Basic Training covers basic gun use, including controls for picking them up, shooting, and reloading.

This section also gives tips on how to land your shots better.

VALORANT has several maps with unique layouts, allowing for strategic team plays. Wide maps like Breeze will require you to aim down sights more often to ensure accuracy with long-range shots. On the other hand, the short-range engagements you’ll encounter in Lotus can be overcome with better recoil control.

However, the most important tip you can get in this part of the Basic Training is controlling your movement to increase shooting accuracy. Movement Error is a VALORANT mechanic that significantly diminishes your shooting accuracy even with the slightest movement. You can solve this by ensuring your Agent is entirely still when shooting.

Attacker Basics

Basic Training simulates actual rounds to show how intense and fun it can get in the public lobbies. When playing as the Attackers, your main goal is to enter any available Radianite sites, plant the Spike, and see that it successfully detonates. In this section, Brimstone will guide you on how to do that, from buying guns and shields to prepping your abilities. He’ll also teach you a few tactics, like walking to avoid detection and using your abilities to enter and take control of dangerous areas.

Defender Basics

On the third and final part of the Basic Training, Sage walks you through a typical Defender round. Here, your main goal is to stop the Attackers from planting the Spike or preventing it from detonating. This section also shows how Agents can use their abilities to give helpful information to the team, enabling them to make more reasonable plays.

Now that you have all the ammunition you need, all that’s left to do is hit the lobbies and have fun! Don’t forget to top up your VALORANT Points only through Codashop to enjoy a fast and hassle-free payment experience.
