Phoveus, the Shadow of Dread, is the newest fighter hero in Mobile Legends. He is a brawny fella who deals magic damage and walks terrifyingly while carrying his deadly flail. Did you know that he is blind? He uses his weapon Astaros as a guide in battle. In this post, learn about his best build, emblem set, battle spell, counters, and other gameplay tips.
Never underestimate Phoveus because we warn you, there is might even without the sight! A fair warning to all Lancelot, Gusion, and Harith mains out there: Phoveus can chase and whack you to death.
How to win in MLBB using Phoveus
Phoveus is arguably one of the best fighters to counter enemies with dash/blink skills as he can easily chase and kill them. Here are some tips to help you win using Phoveus:
- Keep an eye on enemies who use blink or charge skills. They trigger Phoveus’ ultimate to deliver a vicious blow on the target and at the same time, reduces his skill cooldowns. He has 12 seconds to blink continuously to attack as long as the conditions are met.
- Understand and take advantage of Astaros Dread. When he lands his First Skill, Astaros Dread spreads and gives Phoveus increased movement speed and shield temporarily. Useful as your last-minute escape tool.
- Phoveus needs mana items to better sustain his spammable skills. Also, make Oracle one of his core items to increase his shield.
- Use his Second Skill to reveal enemies hiding in the bush (it works even if you don’t them).
- Invade enemy farms with allies. After unlocking his ultimate, Phoveus becomes irritating especially when around those who have blink/charge skills. Join teamfights when you reach level 4.
- When you chase enemies with very low HP, keep spamming your ultimate skill. In case the enemy dashes or blinks to escape, you can easily slay them.
- When upgrading his skills, do it in this priority: Skill 1 (Unlock and max first) Skill 2 (Max last) Skill 3 (Upgrade when available)
Phoveus Skills / Abilities
Whenever an enemy hero uses Blink or Charge skills, it reduces all of Phoveus’ skill cooldowns or charge times by 1s.
Phoveus smashes the ground to deal damage to enemies. When hitting enemy heroes with this skill, he gains Shield and Movement Speed Boost. When an enemy hero, creep, or Phoveus himself touches it, it spreads once more to deal damage again.
Phoveus summons forth Astaros Eye. After a short delay, it starts shrinking and pulling all enemies on it into its center and dealing damage to them.
Whenever an enemy uses blink or charge skills, Phoveus can rapidly blink to their location to deliver a fierce blow and gain Shield. Can be used multiple times within 12s if the conditions are met.
