Genshin Impact players are used to the daily grind of farming monster drops, artifacts, and ascension materials for characters and weapons. So when Sumeru dropped, it was no surprise that travelers were given new materials to farm! One of these new materials is the Kalpalata Lotus.
This guide is created for both beginner and long-time Genshin Impact players. Whether you’re entirely new to the game, or you’ve been traveling the world of Teyvat since its release, this guide will help you farm Kalpalata Lotuses more efficiently!
What are Kalpalata Lotuses?
Kalpalata Lotuses are delicate flowers that grow on vines by the cliff sides and branches of Sumeru. It has petals with shades of blue with a yellowish bulb and stamen. Since these are local specialty items, they can be used to ascend certain Sumeru characters.
How to Farm Kalpalata Lotus?
Farming these flowers is easy, but they are scattered across the rainforests of Sumeru. You’ll have to jump from one teleporter to another, then glide down the cliffsides or climb up branches to locate them. The good news is they mostly grow in clusters! You’ll have an easy time collecting two or three in one spot before moving to the next.
Along with many other materials in the game, it takes two real-world days for the Kalpalata Lotus to respawn after being acquired. Once you run out of lotuses to grab, try asking one of your friends if they’re willing to have you farming around for Kalpalata Lotuses in their worlds.
Use These Characters for Easy Farming
Tighnari
Tighnari’s passive, Encyclopedic Knowledge, will help locate nearby specialties within Sumeru. You can find these specialties marked in the game’s mini-map.
Nahida
Although not required, having Nahida on your team can make farming the Kalpalata lotuses easier. Her skill allows her to collect Sumeru specialties without bothering the climb the steep cliffs. A green hand sign will appear if you hold her skill and aim at the flowers on the cliff sides, allowing you to collect the items.
Farming Route & Location
Lokapala Jungle
To begin farming Kalpalata Lotuses, go to the teleport waypoint north of the Statue of the Seven in Mawtiyima Forest and climb the treacherous cliffsides covered with stamina-restoring flowers. You can also glide to each lotus on the east side.
Vissudha Field
These lotuses are seen in clumps and pairs hanging from rocks in Vissudha Field and Vanarana. If you can’t get to the ones immersed in water, you’ll have to drain the Fane of Ashvattha. If you can’t go to Vanarana, you’ll need to complete the Aranyaka quest chain.
Avidya Forest
The Kalpalata in this area are clustered on the branches and cliffside south of the Statue of the Seven. Glide down the Statue, and you’ll be able to see the glittering flowers hanging off the vines by the waterfall.
Ardravi Valley
This route is pretty straightforward. Start at the Teleport Waypoint south of Vimara Village, then glide down to the cliffsides where you may farm the eight hanging flowers.
Hop on the next Teleport Waypoint south of the Ruin Guard in Devantaka Mountain. You’ll have to climb up the mountains to get the six lotuses by the cliffsides.
Ashavan Realm
First, go to the Teleport Waypoint east of Apam Woods and glide to the trees in the middle. It would be best if you landed lower to the ground, where the hanging lotuses are located.
Next, go to the cliffs east of the Waypoint near Apam Woods, then glide down to Yasna Monument to collect the remaining Kalpalata Lotus.
Characters that use the item
You can gather roughly 60 Kalpalata Lotuses across Sumeru, which requires you to farm twice a week if you aim to fully ascend a character at the quickest time possible. Be sure to gather a total of 168 lotuses so you can ascend the following characters once they hit the level cap.
- Nahida
- Dori
