Genshin Impact Tighnari Guide

HoYoverse churns out more 5-star characters that players don’t really have the Primogems to pull for (unless you’re a whale. Good for you!) With that comes Tighnari, a 5-star Dendro bow character that is known to be calm, cool, and collected. Good news for players who want him—he’s added to the standard banner alongside Diluc, Jean, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, and Dehya.

Tighnari Spotlight

Tighnari Character

Tighnari is the stern Chief Officer of the Forest Rangers, residing in the depths of the Avidya Forest. Despite his intelligence, he chooses to live a solitary life instead of residing in the ivory tower of Sumeru Akademiya despite the insistence of the Sages.

As a Forest Watcher, Tighnari possesses extensive knowledge about a wide range of plant and animal species, with a particular expertise in flowers and mushrooms. He spends considerable time in the lush rainforests of Sumeru, diligently working to maintain the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

Tighnari serves as a mentor to Collei, who holds him in high regard as a Master. Although he maintains a friendly relationship with Cyno, he does not appreciate his jokes, as he has been exposed to numerous unfunny jokes in the past, finding them embarrassing.

Talents

Normal Attack: Khanda Barrier-Buster

Tighnari performs up to four consecutive shots with his bow with his Normal Attack. His Plunge Attack unleashes a shower of arrows mid-air, causing AOE damage upon reaching the ground. His primary source of damage, however, is through his Charged Attack to deliver multiple aimed shots.

At charge Level 1, he releases an arrow that inflicts Dendro damage. When he reaches charge Level 2, the fired arrow not only causes Dendro damage upon impact but also generates four Clusterbloom Arrows that autonomously track nearby opponents, dealing additional Dendro damage.

Elemental Skill: Vijnana-Phala Mine

Tighnari’s formidable abilities include the devastating Vijnana Stormheart, which inflicts area of effect (AoE) Dendro damage upon impact and creates a Vijnana-Khanda Field. This mysterious field spawns illusions that taunt and distract enemies, drawing their focus away from Tighnari.

Moreover, this skill grants Tighnari the Vijnana Penetrator effect, significantly reducing the charging time of his next Wreath Arrow by 2.4 seconds. However, this effect only lasts for 12 seconds or until he fires 3 Wreath Arrows. The Vijnana Stormheart’s damage scales from 149.6% at level 1 to 355.3% at level 15, and the Vijnana-Khanda Field persists for 8 seconds, while the cooldown is 12 seconds.

Additionally, Tighnari’s Vijnana-Phala Mine generates three particles upon impact and has a 50% chance of spawning a fourth particle, further augmenting his formidable abilities.

Elemental Burst: Fashioner’s Tanglevine Shaft

Tighnari unleashes a powerful attack by combining the power of all seeds. This attack fires six Tanglevine Shafts that are capable of tracking opponents and dealing Dendro damage. Upon impact, the Tanglevine Shafts release a secondary wave of Tanglevine Shafts that can also track opponents and deal Dendro damage.

The Tanglevine Shaft’s damage output ranges from 55.6% to 132.1%, while the secondary wave of Tanglevine Shafts scales from 67.98% to 161.45%. This skill has a cooldown of 12 seconds and requires 40 energy to cast.

1st Ascension Passive: Keen Sight

Upon firing a Wreath Arrow, Tighnari’s Elemental Mastery increases by 50 for a duration of 4 seconds.

4th Ascension Passive: Scholarly Blade

Tighnari’s Charged Attack and Fashioner’s Tanglevine Shaft damage are increased by 0.06% for each point of Elemental Mastery he has. The maximum damage bonus that can be obtained through this method is 60%.

Utility Passive: Encyclopedic Knowledge

This passive displays the locations of local specialties in Sumeru on the mini-map.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Tighnari’s charged attack is effortless to use, even on Mobile, due to auto tracking.
  • Tighnari’s kit is uncomplicated, making it an excellent choice for beginners.
  • His Elemental Burst cost is very low, allowing for spamming.

Cons

  • Tighnari is more focused on single targets.
  • Sometimes, the auto-aiming system prioritizes inanimate objects over enemies.

Tighnari Best Build & Weapon

Tighnari Weapon

DPS

Hunter’s Path

  • 5-star Bow
  • Aside from being Tighnari’s signature weapon, this bow comes with a CRIT Rate substat. It also increases his Elemental DMG Bonus and boosts his damage based on his EM, which is great since Tighnari would need EM for his Dendro DMG.

Skyward Harp

  • 5-star Bow
  • The Skyward Harp is a great substitute if you didn’t manage to grab the Hunter’s Path. It also comes with a CRIT Rate substat while also boosting Tighnari’s CRIT DMG. Not to mention, this bow brings a high base ATK stat.

Aqua Simulacra

  • 5-star Bow
  • What’s different with the Aqua Simulacrum is its substat is CRIT DMG, which is great if you can’t farm any CRIT DMG circlet for Tighnari. It also boosts the overall damage of Tighnari, but do note that it comes with a fairly low base ATK for a 5-star weapon.

F2P Friendly:

Prototype Crescent

  • 4-star Bow
  • Good news to all Tighnari havers with no 5-star weapons! The craftable Prototype Crescent is totally useable on him. Since Tighnari’s main attack dealer is his Charged ATK, this bow is great since it deals increased ATK when hitting an enemy’s weak points.

Windblume Ode

  • 4-star Bow
  • This event-locked weapon is great for Tighnari since it boosts his overall EM, and can increase his ATK after using a skill.

Best Artifacts

Tighnari Artifacts

DPS Build

Deepwood Memories (4-pc. set)

  • The 4-pc. Deepwood Memories artifact set is the best for Tighnari since he mainly deals Dendro DMG. With 2-pc., he gets a 15% increase in Dendro DMG, while the 4-pc. set allows his Skill and Burst to debuff the enemies, having their Dendro RES decreased by 30%.

Wanderer’s Troupe (4-pc. set)

  • Although not used as much as other artifacts, the Wanderer’s Troupe is a great substitute to use on Tighnari while farming for Deepwood Memories. Make sure to get the 4-pc. since it gives Tighnari a 35% boost in Charged ATK.

Artifact Stat Priority

Flower

  • Main: Flat HP
  • Sub: Elemental Mastery / ATK % / CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

Feather

  • Main: Flat ATK
  • Sub: Elemental Mastery / ATK % / CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

Sands

  • Sub: Elemental Mastery / ATK % / CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

Goblet

  • Main: Dendro DMG Bonus%
  • Sub: Elemental Mastery / ATK % / CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

Circlet

Best Team Comp

Premium Team for Tighnari

Tighnari Team 1

It’s quite easy to tell why this is a nice team for Tighnari. You should always prioritize creating Blooms and applying Electro on them for maximum damage dealt. Not to mention, Yae Miko, Raiden Shogun, and Kokomi are all off-field sub DPS and/or support. You won’t need to think too much about how to properly use them—just pop their Skills and switch to Tighnari.

Free-to-Play Friendly Team for Tighnari

Tighnari Team 2

This team is also great for Tighnari since Collei can be your off-field DPS while also giving your team Dendro Resonance. Collie can also deal additional Dendro DMG when you can’t find the right timing to use Tighnari’s Charged ATKs.

Although Fischl deals less consistent Electro DMG than Raiden Shogun, she still is a great source of Electro application when you don’t have the Inazuma Archon. Not to mention, Tighnari’s low burst cost doesn’t really work well with Raiden Shogun.

Tighnari Team 3

Here’s another rendition of the team composition above—just in case you don’t have Kuki Shinobu. Bennett can be your healer and buffer, and can also deal the Burning elemental reaction when you need it.

Tighnari Team 4

In a team composition, Tighnari is typically the main DPS, utilizing his skills and charged attacks to deal heavy Dendro damage. Lisa can be a useful addition to the team, triggering reactions with her elemental skills that will boost Tighnari’s damage output.

Collei is also a valuable member, providing Dendro Resonance and serving as a strong Sub-DPS. Lastly, Barbara is an important support character, healing the team and spreading hydro to opponents, which can be used for other dendro reactions such as hyperbloom.

How to Use Tighnari

We recommend that you use your sub DPS and support characters’ skills first before switching to Tighnari. Then, you use your Elemental Skill to create elemental reactions and deal Charged Attacks on the enemy. If you have your Burst ready, use it after your Charged Attacks.

We recommend that you always bring a Hydro and Electro character with you since the Bloom and Hyperbloom elemental reactions are, so far, dealing the most damage out of all elemental reactions.
