Today, we’ll take a closer look into his high-tech abilities and share effective strategies you can use to win. We’ll also delve into his best builds, including runes and spells, to help you maximize this quirky champ’s potential. Enjoy!

Heimerdinger’s Abilities

As one of the most esteemed yordle scientists in the City of Progress, Heimerdinger’s kit should revolve around the strategic placement of turrets and clever use of space. Let’s explore each of his abilities in detail.

Passive: Hextech Affinity

Heimerdinger’s Passive grants him a 20% movement speed boost when he’s near allied turrets or his own H-28G Evolution Turrets. This passive encourages him to stay close to his creations, allowing him to reposition quickly during team fights or escape sticky situations.

First Ability: H-28G Evolution Turret

Heimerdinger’s first ability has three Turret Kits that can be deployed at target locations. These turrets have two attack modes and can remain active until destroyed:

  1. A rapid-fire cannon for consistent damage.
  2. A secondary pass-through beam attack that hits a small area.

Interestingly, the turrets deal 50% less damage to towers, making them less effective for pushing lanes directly. The turrets’ stats update every second to reflect Heimerdinger’s level, Ability Power, and skill level.

Second Ability: Hextech Micro-Rockets

With Hextech Micro-Rockets, Heimerdinger unleashes a barrage of five rockets in a target direction. Each missile deals magic damage to the first enemy it hits, with the succeeding rockets dealing reduced damage. This ability is excellent for poking enemies or finishing off low-health targets.

A vital feature of this ability is its interaction with Heimerdinger’s turrets. For each rocket that hits an enemy champion, nearby turrets gain a 20% beam charge, up to 100% if all five rockets connect.

Third Ability: CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade

The CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade is a versatile ability that Heimerdinger can use for offense and defense. When activated, the yordle scientist throws a grenade in the target direction, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies in the area for 2 seconds. Enemies caught in the center of the grenade’s AoE are stunned for 1.5 seconds, making this ability crucial for setting up combos or escaping an ambush. Furthermore, if the grenade hits an enemy champion, all allied turrets within range gain a 100% beam charge, enhancing their effectiveness in team fights.

Ultimate: Upgrade!!!

Heimerdinger’s Ultimate empowers his three abilities. This skill modification increases the damage and removes the ability’s mana cost for a particular duration:

  1. Upgrading his first ability creates more powerful turrets, useful against teams with many front liners.
  2. Upgrading his Hextech Micro-Rockets enhances its damage, which is ideal for bursting down squishy targets.
  3. CH-2 Storm Grenades, when upgraded, produce a larger, more potent grenade, perfect for long-range initiation. This upgraded version causes the grenade to bounce two times and inflict a stronger slow debuff.

Heimerdinger’s large AoE and wide selection of poking tools give him a strong presence in the mid-lane and during team fights. He excels in zoning enemies and controlling the battlefield, leaving the enemy team with a smaller area to work with.

 How to Play Heimerdinger

It’s crucial to adapt your playstyle to the game situation when playing as Heimerdinger. In the laning phase, focus on denying your opponents of precious gold by boxing them out with aggressive turret placement. However, you should remember that your turrets can still be destroyed, so be ready with your second and third abilities to assist your turrets and thwart enemies.

As the game progresses, use your Ultimate to give your team various advantages; upgrade your first ability for sustained damage during team fights, your second ability for squishy mages, and your third ability for long-range initiation. You can also gain the upper hand by setting team fights in choke points, where opponents have less room to avoid your large AoEs.

If you like overwhelming your opponents with sheer firepower, you’ll love playing as Heimerdinger and his high-volume rockets and bullets barrage.
