Whether you side with the Autobots or the Decepticons, one thing’s for sure: PUBG Mobile 3.9 is nothing short of electrifying. The update’s main highlight is the Transformers collaboration, letting players bring Optimus Prime and Megatron into the battlegrounds. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg! In this article, we’re breaking down the new Transformers-themed updates, a fresh wave of weapon updates, Metro Royale’s zombie chaos, and a new social hub where you can unwind between matches.

PUBG Mobile x Transformers Collab Event

The battle royale gets a tech upgrade in the new Transformers-themed game mode. Players can now summon Optimus Prime or Megatron by locating Spacebridge Beacons on the map. Once summoned, these iconic bots bring Cybertronian Supply Crates and Energons, helping you gain even more advantage with upgrades.

Both Transformers feature two forms:

  • Alt Form – A 4-seater ride with high defense, perfect for fast rotations or stylish getaways.
  • Robot Form – This is where the real fun begins. Each bot gains a Basic Attack and Ultimate Skill, making them powerful allies (or enemies) in any skirmish.

Keep hunting for hidden Energons to upgrade your Transformer buddy mid-match and turn every fight into a cinematic showdown.

New Themed Areas

Three futuristic zones have been added to the battlefield, loaded with loot and outplay potential:

  • Neon Outpost – A glowing tech fortress that encourages fast-paced team fights.
  • Astro Den – A mysterious location with tight corridors and a high loot payoff.
  • Cosmic Meteorite Checkpoint – A crashed meteor site pulsing with energy and resources.

Each area has its own secret to uncover, and they often have Spacebridge Beacons and Energon caches.

Weapon and Attachment Updates

The 3.9 Update is also packing heat when it comes to gunplay. The new ASM Abakan is a 5.56mm powerhouse with three firing modes: full-auto, two-shot burst, and a single shot. The burst mode delivers two shots before settling into a standard fire rate, ideal for those who love flexible playstyles.

On top of that, the DSR Sniper is now more accessible, costing only 35 Shop Tokens and occasionally spawning in air drops or on the ground.

Attachment-wise, we’re seeing a solid reshuffle:

  • The new SR Barrel Extender significantly increases your bullet damage, although it adds some firing sway.
  • The Compensator and Muzzle Brake get new balance tweaks for more customized recoil and aiming options.
  • Attachment availability has also shifted. Muzzle Brakes are now an exclusive ground loot, while Barrel Extenders are popping up more frequently in Supply Shops.

Want to test them all out? The Solo Training Grounds are now updated with the ASM Abakan and new attachments, so don’t forget to check them out before jumping into your first game!

Metro Royale Updates

The undead are back and angrier than ever. Metro Royale Chapter 27 is live until September 2, with the new and improved Zombie Uprising 2.0.

Zombie leaders are now split into Boss Ranks, which determine how tough they are based on their distance from the map’s core. The closer you get, the stronger (and more rewarding) these monsters become, giving seasoned players a greater challenge and loot incentive.

To take it even further, defeated bosses may drop Genetic Codes, which players can use inside Incubation Chambers scattered across the map. By placing these codes into inactive chambers, you can hatch your own monsters. The higher the code quality, the better the chances of spawning high-ranking, battle-hardened allies.

And if that wasn’t metal enough, the update also introduces a new fabled melee weapon: the Thunderclap Judicator. This new melee weapon is a brawler’s dream as it comes with unique traits, stays in your inventory across seasons, and can’t be lost upon elimination. The only way to snag one is by taking down high-tier zombie bosses during Chapter 27, so good luck!

New Social System: PUBG Hub

After playing 3.9’s adrenaline-pumping content, the game lets you wind down in the PUBG Hub, a new 3D seaside lobby accessible once you hit Level 9.

This vibrant hangout features the Central Plaza, where you can interact with other players, the Dynamic Dance Stage, where you can show off your best moves, and the Beach Recreation Area, which offers games like Seesaw Showdown and Beach Soccer.

The Hub retains all the features of the standard 2D lobby, so you can squad up, shop, change outfits, and wait for matches without missing a beat. It’s rolling out globally by July 17, so watch when it hits your region!

From summoning Transformers mid-battle to engineering monsters in Metro Royale, the PUBG Mobile 3.9 update feels like stepping into your own blockbuster movie. Whether you’re blasting Megatron’s Ultimate or chasing the elusive Thunderclap Judicator, this version blurs the line between tactical shooter and full-on sci-fi epic.
