What is PUBG Mobile’s Ultimate Royale?

Ultimate Royale is PUBG Mobile’s newest competitive game mode, introduced in the 3.4 update. This new game mode brings a new ranking system designed to give highly skilled players and aspiring pros a taste of esports-style gameplay. It brings a fresh challenge to the table by replicating the intensity and settings of official tournaments. With the new game mode, Krafton also aims to perk up the esports scene by offering established teams an avenue to discover new talent.

How does it work?

Ultimate Royale becomes available at set times that will be announced in-game. During the Ultimate Royale, players will battle it in a 64-player lobby and progress through 5 new tiers: Vanguard, Exceed, Supreme, Peerless, and Legends. The Classic Erangel map will serve as the exclusive battleground for this mode, maintaining the essence of PUBG Mobile’s roots.

Interestingly, red zones have been removed, and the zone settings and loot spawn rates mirror those of official tournaments. This setup aims to provide hardcore players with an authentic competitive experience.

Its scoring system is also tweaked to encourage both survival and aggression. Each elimination earns you a small but vital boost in points, but it’s not just about racking up kills. Your overall rank at the end of the match also plays a significant role in determining your score, and if you’re eliminated early, you risk losing points—up to 15 if you finish last. This way, the mode ensures players can’t rely solely on camping or gunning for eliminations and instead forces them to find that perfect balance between staying alive and pushing the action.

However, the opportunity it presents makes this new game mode truly exciting. The top 500 players at the end of each season can be scouted by professional teams and join the PUBG Mobile Global Open, opening a direct path to the world of professional gaming. It’s a game-changer for those dreaming of making it big in the esports scene.

Who is eligible to play Ultimate Royale?

To participate in Ultimate Royale, Survivors must have reached Crown tier or above in any mode during the current or previous season. This requirement ensures that only experienced players enter the fray, maintaining a high level of competition. The limited weekly duration also adds an element of exclusivity to the experience.

First impressions

If you’ve grown used to the pace of Classic mode, be prepared for a more intense and fast-paced experience in Ultimate Royale. While everyone’s familiar with the Classic Erangel map, the reduced player count—down to 64 from the usual 100—creates a more concentrated, high-pressure environment that leaves more room for strategizing and higher-level plays. This lower player density means fewer opportunities for chaotic skirmishes, but every encounter feels more deliberate, as there’s less room to hide or regroup as the circle shrinks.

The changes to loot spawn rates also push you to be more efficient when scavenging. On top of that, the faster and less predictable zone behavior keeps you on your toes without the interference of red zones. This streamlines the gameplay and adds precision to your decision-making that Classic mode doesn’t require.

Ultimate Royale is an action-packed evolution of PUBG Mobile, and it delivers a competitive edge the Classic mode just can’t match. Give it a try and remember to keep your arsenal in tip-top shape by topping up your PUBG Mobile UC only at Codashop to enjoy a fast and hassle-free payment.
