Moonton brings Hanabi out of the shadows this Patch 1.7.44 with a hero revamp. The recent patch also introduces a long list of hero adjustments and new equipment that will usher in a new meta run by marksmen and attack-speed heroes.

In this article, we’ll study Hanabi’s revamped kit and discuss the best builds, emblem sets, battle spells, and some tactics to help rip your way into the new meta with the Scarlet Flower.

MLBB Hanabi

Hanabi, The Scarlet Flower

As the chosen owner of the Higanbana, one of the seven great armaments of the Scarlet Shadow clan, Hanabi spends her life unlocking its true potential through the mastery of weapons and Ninjutsu.

Hanabi is a skilled marksman that blooms in the late game. She shines best at team fights with her passive, Ninjutsu: Petal Barrage, which allows her to shred multiple opponents simultaneously.

Hanabi’s Basic Attack and Skills will launch Petal Blades after hitting a target. Petal Blades will bounce to nearby enemies up to 4 times, with the first bounce dealing 40% of the original damage and the subsequent bounces dealing 85% of the previous one.

Hanabi gains a Physical Attack Shield for 5 seconds. While the shield is active, 20% of the damage she deals is converted to shield health. She also gains increased Attack Speed, Movement Speed, and Control Immunity.

Hanabi throws a kunai dealing Physical Damage to enemies. Enemies hit will be slowed by 60% for 1 second. It also applies a mark, causing them to take full damage on the next Petal Barrage bounce.

Hanabi throws the Higanbana, dealing Physical Damage to the first enemy hero hit and immobilising them for 0.8 seconds. After 1 second, the Higanbana blooms, dealing AOE damage.

Best Emblem Set

Use the Marksman Emblem to further stack on her core stats. Focus on Bravery for additional Physical Attack, Agility for increased Movement Speed, and Electro Flash for increased survivability.

Best Battle Spells

The two best spell options for Hanabi are Flicker and Inspire. The former answers her lack of mobility, while the latter reinforces her late-game power.

Pick Flicker if the opposing lineup has notorious gankers like Yin and Hayabusa or if you don’t have a designated support or roamer who can babysit you in the early game. Inspire packs additional damage that could bring your late-game strength even further.

Item Build

The Swift Crossbow is a new piece of equipment introduced in the Patch 1.7.44 update. For 1,000 gold, it gives +20% attack speed and Unique Passives that will help you in last hitting. Build it first and upgrade it into a Corrosion Scythe to farm faster.

Demon Hunter Sword’s Unique Passive, Devour, adds 9% of the enemy’s current HP as extra Physical Damage making it another core item that enables you to participate in team fights earlier.

MLBB Hanabi Revamp Item Build

  • Corrosion Scythe: +50 Physical Attack, +25% Attack Speed, +5% Movement Speed
  • Swift Boots: +15% Attack Speed, +40 Movement Speed
  • Demon Hunter Sword: +35 Physical Attack, +25% Attack Speed
  • Golden Staff: +65 Physical Attack, +15% Attack Speed
  • Blade of Despair: +160 Physical Attack, +5% Movement Speed
  • Malefic Roar: +60 Physical Attack

You can replace Malefic Roar with Immortality or Haas’ Claws if you need more sustainability in the late game.

Will the revamped Hanabi make it to the new meta?

Her new kit sure has some interesting pros and cons. Her revamped ult doesn’t have that mass immobilising ability anymore and what’s even worse for Hanabi mains is that the revamp took away her lifesteal.

It opens up new possibilities, though, as this version of Hanabi is not mana-reliant, and her Petal Barrage stays on forever for her basic attack and skills. The new Swift Crossbow, designed to give marksmen a better edge in the early game, is also a good sign. And with new Crowd Control monsters like Arlott on the way, maybe Hanabi’s just waiting for the perfect time to strike.
