The Traveler’s journey continues northward into the frosty realm of Nod-Krai as Genshin Impact rolls out Version “Luna I” (6.0), A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves. With icy landscapes, mystical lore, and a slate of new features, this update promises to be one of the most exciting yet.

Players will meet new characters, pick up a new catalyst, level up their teams with the new Chronicled Wish banner, and even snag a free 5-star of their choice. There’s also a mechanical mayhem of an event waiting in the wings. Let’s break it all down!

New Character: Lauma

Meet Lauma, the Moonchant Envoy of the Frostmoon Scions, and the latest Dendro powerhouse to join the Genshin Impact roster. Known for her wisdom and ties to the tranquil forests of Nod-Krai, Lauma wields her powers with both grace and ferocity. Her kit is a symphony of support and reaction-based amplification: from her Frostgrove Sanctuary that lowers Dendro and Hydro resistance, to her Elemental Burst, which bathes the battlefield in stacks of Pale Hymn, boosting Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and the new Lunar-Bloom reaction.

Top up Now!

Lauma shines best in Elemental Mastery-heavy compositions, rewarding creative team-building that leans into Dendro-Hydro synergies. Think of her as a conductor, orchestrating damage spikes while keeping enemies weakened. For lore lovers, she also deepens our understanding of the Frostmoon Scions, shedding light on the true nature of the Welkin Moon.

And if one Dendro character isn’t enough, Phase 1 of the update doubles down with a Dendro Archon rerun! Lauma and Nahida will be joined by a supportive lineup of Barbara, Kuki Shinobu, and Kaveh from September 10 to 30, 2025.

New Weapon: Nightweaver’s Looking Glass

Lauma’s signature 5-star catalyst, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass, is as delicate as it is enchanting, with a design that feels like it was plucked from a moonlit dream. Beyond its elegant appearance, it boasts a Base ATK scaling up to 565 and an Elemental Mastery bonus of 265, making it a natural fit for reaction-heavy teams. Its passive, Millennial Hymn, enhances EM whenever the wielder deals Hydro or Dendro DMG, and it further amplifies power when Lunar-Bloom is triggered.

When both effects are active, nearby party members see their Bloom DMG soar by 120%, Hyperbloom and Burgeon boosted by 80%, and Lunar-Bloom enhanced by 40%. What’s more, these buffs can even be triggered while the wielder is off-field. If Lauma is the composer of reaction-based symphonies, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass is the finely crafted instrument that brings every note to life.

New Chronicled Wish Banner

Travelers, your wish-planning just got a little sweeter! The new Chronicled Wish, “Roving Chalice of Dewgrass”, features characters from the Dendro region, Sumeru. It lets you chart a course toward a specific 5-star character or weapon, boosting their drop rate during the event. Unlike standard Event Wishes, this banner mixes characters and weapons into the pool, bringing back some long-missed favorites.

For those who have been saving Primogems, this is the perfect chance to target that elusive rerun character or complete your weapon collection. And with Lauma in the mix, who knows? Maybe the Sumeru gang breaks the meta.

Free 5-Star Character

Here’s the cherry on top: Version “Luna I” gifts every player with a free Standard Wish 5-star character through a special wish event. From the moment the update drops until October 21, 2025, you can invite a 5-star of your choice directly into your party. You’ll also receive their Ascension materials along with the character, making it easier to level up.

New players won’t miss out either; HoYoverse confirmed that later versions will offer the same perk for future Travelers joining after Luna I ends. If you’ve been meaning to try Genshin Impact because of Diluc’s awesome moves or Mona’s elusive tricks, this event ensures your dream team gets one step closer to completion.

New Event: Clink Clank Clash

Mechs and mischief collide in Clink Clank Clash, a quirky new event with game modes featuring action, exploration, and even a dash of stealth. You’ll take on different challenges through four game modes, each bringing its own flavor of fun:

  • Pursue and Strike! The Out-of-Control Flier! – Chase rogue recon bots through the Moonlanes while collecting Moonlit Particles and shooting them down with the help of Kuuhenki.
  • Boom! Blast! Power Test! – Go all out by stomping down enemies with Aino’s self-defense device, and don’t forget to gather those battle trophies.
  • Seek and Find! Machines on the Fritz! – Track down malfunctioning robots scattered throughout the area with the help of a Kuuvahki remnant.
  • Quietly Now! Sneaky Sneaking Sneaks! – Slip into stealth mode as you operate the Zip-zap Spy-bot Number 1 to collect ID cards and make it to your destination undetected.

Complete these challenges to rack up Legion Morale, which you can trade for rewards like weapons, Primogems, Crowns of Insight, and even a free 4-star character, Aino.

As the Traveler ventures deeper into Nod-Krai, Version “Luna I” feels less like another update and more like the dawn of a grand new chapter. With Lauma debuting as the latest Dendro maestro, a rerun for the Dendro Archon, Nahida, and a banner lineup stacked with green synergy, team-building possibilities are richer than ever. Add in the free characters, and you’ll have plenty to keep your party busy!
